The Curriculum

NATA’s Academy covers multiple disciplines to prepare learners for diverse career opportunities. NATA stands out from other training opportunities because it offers an NQF level 5 qualification (Higher Education).

From February to December, students learn the core professional skills of acting, voice production, singing, movement, and dance, as well as life and management skills, theatre history, career guidance, literacy, and computer skills. The courses are taught through practical experience, and through research, note taking, reading, and scripting. The teaching staff are committed and experienced, and they update their lesson plans yearly to capture current industry and educational developments.

As well as classroom activities, learners havea number of external and after-hours opportunities. Along with attending at least 2 theatre productions a month, students also take part in internships where they assist with professional performances and tours.
